I was a lone adventurer until the ripe ol' age of 26!!! Ha! Still travel alone a lot due to the job. And when you're alone in Sacramento or Portland, Or. (2 of the places I travel to most for training.) One MUST go shopping after classes until closing!! I just make sure of my surroundings and if I feel insecure, I'm not the least bit intimidated or embarressed to ask an employee to walk me to my vehicle. I suppose pepper spray not a bad idea.
