Reflection

My pastor (Brian Allard) often speaks of magnifying Jesus. Pastor cannot stress enough that magnifying Jesus means to make Him bigger in your own life.

It's very easy to get caught up in the motions of serving God and end up spiritually destitute. One example in the Bible includes Martha, sister to Lazarus and Mary. Martha had the desire to serve Jesus and even went so far as to ridicule her own sister by comparing and contrasting how they served Him. Martha was so close to Jesus, but He was not magnified in her life because she was burdened down with serving Him blindly.

I don't want to serve God this way. I know there is more to living for God than what I'm doing right now, and I am trying to evaluate myself to make sure He is bigger in my life. I'm not trying to become so involved in serving Him that I forget who I'm serving and why. Martha was looking at her preparations, and began to focus on everything around her. Unfortunately, her eyesight waned and she lost focus of Jesus.

I definitely have some things to work on, and know that it is time to quit being complacent. Only we know how the Lord can increase in our lives. It is up to us to assess and reassess our Christian walk as often as possible to maintain our focus and make sure that Jesus never decreases.

Happy Vday!

Happy Valentine's Day! My Valentine and I are at the ''Happiest Place on Earth'' today!

I'm so excited and so happy! I was surpised last night with the tickets. We had a great time at CA Adventure and now we are headed to Disneeeeyland!

Yes, I know. So cliché. Disneyland on Valentine's Day. I DON'T CARE!

Hope you're having a great Saturday. :o)

Chandra the Speed Racer

I got an email from my interim supervisor stating the need to speak with me. No big deal. However, what threw me for a loop was that she said she needed to discuss a complaint about my driving.

MY DRIVING?! Seriously? Me, the girl who drives 65 mph? At first I was confused, because I thought someone had complained about me driving my personal vehicle. Turns out that a local citizen reported to Risk Management that I was driving a county vehicle "erratically" and I cut off several people in the process.

I had to sit down with my supervisor. She gave me the date and I had to back track. I do remember the date, because I had to take some children into protective custody. However, I do NOT remember driving like a mad woman and cutting people off.

Too make a ridiculously long story short, I'm not in trouble, but I may have to take a defensive driving course. Oh, my, my, my.

Sadly, I can't even use the line: "How does the community member know it was me? It could have been any one!"

Nope. This guy described the driver as being "a black female with glasses". AAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA Being that I was the only black female with glasses with that particular car on that day, I have been singled out!

Luckily a co-worker was following me and can vouch that I wasn't using the county vehicle for my speed demon ways. Of course there's a running joke in the office about my driving abilities and if I should be allowed to check out a car.

Days of the Week

Without God your week would be Mournday, Tearsday, Wasteday, Thirstday, Fightday, Shatterday, & Sinday.
