I Had a Dream

The location escapes me at this point in time, but the Bible does state to tell a dream as a dream. Let me give a brief description of the crazy, weirdo, scary dream I recently had.

Throughout my dream I was a) attacked b) chased and c) followed by three different males at night. I was chased so long my legs were sore when I woke up. I was walking through Macy's and kept looking behind me, because I thought I was being followed. However, a glance back disproved my suspicions, but the feeling would not cease. I remember being scared, and telling a Macy's employee that I needed a toy cop to take me to my car. I got into my car safely, but once on the road....a man followed me in a separate car.

I won't go into all the lovely details about being chased and attacked, but I'm considering carrying pepper spray by the dozen around my neck.

I would generally let a dream have its course and move on w my life. Maybe it's because I'm taking 4 night classes this quarter and I park across the street from campus and walk to my car-- alone. Maybe it's because I frequently exercise at night--alone. Maybe it's because I occasionally go to the mall/etc at night--alone. Maybe it's because I went running last night and LEA sirens and a ghetto bird (helicopter with spotlight) were looking for criminals and that rarely happens in Delano. I dunnnnno but I'm alert, people!!! My guard is up, my pistol...er pepper spray is raised, and my four eyes are working over time.

LOL I do all those things too. I do EVERYTHING alone. And I don't really get scared a lot, but when it hits me, it hits hard. LOL. My dad bought all of his girls pepper spray for Christmas...Not that I would have the presence of mind to use it or anything if I truly were being attacked.

I'm not sure how well I would do trying to use a can of pepper spray, either. I'm too clumsy to do anything lethal. I think calling on the name of Jesus is best!!

stop being cheap and buy a parking pass

Nope. I need the exercise and parking at CSUB is ridiculous. The pass is not worth it.

Awareness (and PRAYER) is the key! I was a lone adventurer until the ripe ol' age of 26!!! Ha! Still travel alone a lot due to the job. And when you're alone in Sacramento or Portland, Or. (2 of the places I travel to most for training.) One MUST go shopping after classes until closing!! I just make sure of my surroundings and if I feel insecure, I'm not the least bit intimidated or embarressed to ask an employee to walk me to my vehicle. I suppose pepper spray not a bad idea. But I would probably do something stupid with it, like accidently set it off in my car!

Be safe!

Karry

P.S. Daria's name is at the top of this because she now has a blog! (Mom doesn't even have a blog!) Check it out: http://darialauren.blogspot.com/

Mallikarjuna: Hi.

Karry: I will not be ashamed to ask for assistance! I have yet to do that. However, if I need to...I shan't be shamed!

I have threatened to buy a can of pepper spray! Especially since I like to walk the trails and recently a man was caught hiding out in that general area who had severely beaten/raped his ex-girlfriend and dumped her assuming she was dead.

Plus... you just can't predict four-legged friends, as much as I love 'em!
